Volumes One to Three of the year 1997 have appeared in the context of the 350th anniversary celebration of the University of Bamberg. While the first two volumes were dedicated to the topics "Music and Healing in Transcultural Perspectives" and "Cultural Concepts of Hearing and Listening", the final volume of the year has no specific theme. Of the five Articles, two concern musical instruments and three are involved with the transformation processes of traditional song and dance forms.
